This little lamb only a few days old bonded very well with these little girls. The lamb bonded so well with these girls that it followed the little girls across a paddock. Unfortunately the lamb was trodden by a large cow. Lamb now has fractures to the right femur and also a fractured left hip.

The lamb bonded so well with these girls that it followed the little girls across a paddock. Unfortunately the lamb was trodden by a large cow. Lamb now has fractures to the right femur and also a fracture to the left hip.
As you can see in the X-ray the lamb has a fracture close to the end of the right femur and also a fracture to the hip joint of the left hip. The lamb will need fixation' of the fracture of the femur with the use of bone pins. The left hip will need surgery to remove the top of the femur so there is no longer rubbing of the femur against the fractured hip joint. If the surgical repairs are performed we expect the lamb to have full use of both the left and the right legs.
Enough of our clients have come forward and committed to give something towards his operation. As a result we have already placed pins into the distal part of the femur and repaired the fracture of the right femur. We are now going to wait a few days for the recovery to occur and then look at an operation to fix the left hip of the sheep so that the sheep can have full mobility in both of her legs.
